We welcome visiting Groups who come to enjoy the wildlife of the Reserve or just to walk in the quiet picturesque Blackwater Valley. Winter visits are popular with Bird Watching groups because of the variety of wintering wildfowl.
If you are organising a group visit to the Moor Green Lakes Reserve for any reason, it is strongly recommended to contact the Site Liaison Officer to check that you will not clash with other known activities (although not all such visiting groups will be known about). Organised visits by bird watching or walking groups particularly should avoid Work Party days, because most of the wildfowl is displaced for the day. If in doubt, please phone or email well in advance of your proposed Group visit.
It is possible one of our volunteers could act as a guide for your visit. Please contact Simon well in advance and we will see if we can arrange someone to show the delights of the reserve.
The various wildlife pages try to give an indication of what you will see at various times throughout the year. Also the monthly Bird Summaries give an indication of birds seen in the previous months. The reports of previous years give an indication of what might be seen in the coming months.
