Walks around Moor Green Lakes

Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become heathier. Walking around Moor Green Lakes lets you enjoy a breath of fresh air, admire the scenery and if you are observant spot nature. It is good for the mind too, particulary if you have a stressful job.

The Southern and Eastern edge of the Reserve forms a small part of the 3 Castles Path, a 60 mile long distance path with one end at Windsor and the other at Winchester. The riverside path is also part of the Blackwater Valley Path, a shorter long distance path of 23 miles

Below you will details of circular shorter distance walks in and around the Moor Green Lakes area. Many start at the Moor Green Lakes car park, but of course you can pick them up at any point and if it means you don't need the car even better

Access from Yateley

If you live in Yateley, consider joining the walks by taking the bridleway from Moulsham Copse Lane which is 0.5 miles in length to the footbridge on the southern edge of the reserve. However be warned, the path is perhaps the muddiest section of walk you will encounter except after a really long dry spell, and in Summer the brambles and nettles narrow the path to single file.

If you think Hampshire County Council should put in a proper multi-usage surface for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, and do more to look after this path, feel free to complain to countryside@hants.gov.uk
